Payback?
Corey Dillon spent 7 years running for the Cincinnati Bengals. Seven years piling up 1000+ yard seasons. Seven years wanting the rest of the team to play as hard and as good as he did. It didn't happen... and Corey was pretty vocal about it in the Cincinnati press. He got labeled as a troublemaker. He wanted off of that team.
Well, Corey Dillon got his wish... and then some. He was traded to the New England Patriots for a second round draft pick. He hasn't missed a beat. He's already over 1200 yards rushing in just 13 games.
Guess who Corey gets to run against this Sunday? Yep.
The Bengals. It's payback time.
I read ESPN.com a lot... and one of my favorite writers there is Bill Simmons, and his articles are called The Sports Guy (it helps that he's originally from Boston).
On every Friday during football season he makes his weekly picks, and gives his special insight into each game. Well here is his insight into Dillon going up against the team he hated playing for...
There's a slight chance Corey Dillon has been biding his time and waiting for this game, a little like Michael Myers staring out the window at the insane asylum for 15 straight years, and he's going to snap on Sunday and rush for something like 375 yards and 8 TDs before his teammates drag him off the field and handcuff him to the bench to keep him from going back in. I'm not saying it will happen. But I'm not ruling it out.
